Join us for a sunset meditation in the Arcata Community Forest to celebrate the International Day of Peace. We will explain a bit about Heartfulness Meditation, then we’ll have a half hour meditation together as the sun sets.
It may be chilly, so bring plenty of layers and a shawl or blanket to wrap in. Also bring a beach chair or something else to sit on, as the ground is covered with small branches. Try to be on time so you can hear about this rather special form of meditation. But if you should arrive after we start, just sit down and join us. Turn your attention to the source of light that is already present in your heart. Sit openly and notice what happens in your heart.
No pets or children, please. We love them, but it will not work to bring them for this event. Kids have their own form of meditation that we can do another time.
Directions: We will be in the northernmost part of the Community Forest, off Diamond Drive. Come north on LK Wood Blvd, which is HSU’s western boundary. Keep going north, and stay on LK Wood when St. Louis Road (which will look like the main road) turns left and crosses the freeway. Don’t go left across the freeway, just keep going straight on the east side of the freeway. The second right is Diamond. Go 0.8 mile up Diamond to a path into the Community Forest. It isn’t very well marked, but you’ll see on the right it at 0.8 mile. Parking is on the street. We will meet a short distance up the path at Arcata Community Forest sign and walk together a short distance along the left fork from there.
